Tribute Workout of the Day - “Aimee”
A huge thanks goes out to Matt Hirschbiel for organizing this event and to Danielle Throckmorton for running the workout.
Guest blogger Matt Hirschbiel:
"This workout is dedicated to Aimee Darby…someone who is about to start a fight that few of us can imagine. Every item in this workout has a purpose and a meaning. The run represents the sprint in which Aimee is going to beat this horrible disease. The burpee rope climbs represents getting beat down and continuing to get back up…we do two of these to represent the number of “tatas”. The Handstand Push Ups are difficult, and can rarely be done in one try… we do 6 of them to represent Aimee’s 6 month old daughter, Eliza. The Chest to bar Pull Ups work your chest and overall upper body, a tribute to the “tatas”, and the Wall Balls are a full body exercise, a tribute to the struggle that Aimee will endure….we do a combined 20 of these to represent the number of weeks Aimee will spend in chemotherapy. Finally, we do ABMATs ….I’m sure that 160 sit-ups will leave all of our stomachs sore…so that when you laugh over the next few days…you think of how lucky you are to be laughing. We do 40 each round because that’s how old Aimee will be when she’s healthy again."
200m Run
2 Burpee Rope Climbs
6 HSPU
8 Chest to bar pull ups
12 Wall Balls (#20/14)
40 ABMAT sit-ups
4 rounds for time
