Dr. Max Gerson was born in Germany, but moved to America at a young age. Before dying in 1959, he'd go on to create The Gerson Therapy. He claimed that it could cure cancer, as well as many other serious diseases. Among some of the things it would cure are tuberculosis (which was very fatal back then) and migraines.
Dr. Max Gerson's Therapy was based on a vision for natural healing. It all started when he would get terrible migraines that would last for days, leaving him to do nothing but sit in the dark until it was over. These migraines ignited the spark for him to create what would later be known as The Gerson Therapy. It reminds me of how I started High Speed Health......

after searching for as many ways possible to cure my own repetitive strain injuries throughout my body.
Max Gerson was a strong believer that the bodies ability to heal, if you feed it and fuel it properly, could overcome nearly any disease. Surprisingly, the basis of his therapy was something that is becoming very popular (again) in today's culture, juicing vegetables.
Dr. Gerson believed that the effectiveness of the juicing was clearly obvious. An enormous amount of nutrition can be captured in a glass of juice in minutes. Within a few more minutes, the juice would be flowing deep within the patient's system. If the same amount of vegetables was eaten, it would take hours of digestion and much of the nutrients and enzymes within the food would be burned up in the digestion effort.
Dr. Gerson required his patients to drink one 8 ounce glass of juice 13 times a day. This daily amount of juice would come from approximately 20 lbs of food. Aside from the juices, patients would eat delicious organic foods. The other procedure in the therapy included an organic coffee enema. The juice dislodges poisons (trapped in the body) into the blood stream, which are then absorbed by the liver. The liver can become overwhelmed and even damaged, hence the need for the organic coffee enema solution.
The Gerson Miracle was a bit of a dark documentary, not quite what I expected. However, I learned tons from it. I was already a big fan of juicing vegetables, although I do it on a much smaller scale (with my Nutribullet). But this documentary taught me things I'd never imagine about how powerful the human body's healing capability is, when fueled properly.
The documentary also touched on many toxins we breathe in, originating from products that we have no idea. For example, brand new carpet, plastic car dashboards, fake leather car seats, etc. Most of these things are unavoidable in today's age, but the documentary taught me how important it is to balance out the toxins that I can control (no soda, no caffeine, no fried foods, limited red meat, etc).
The documentary stated that in the late 1940's, cancer incidents were 1 in 16. In 2004 (when the documentary was released), it was 1 in 2 (in westernized nations). This is an eye-opening example of how we need to reduce the unnecessary toxins that we consume. They will kill us one day, regardless of if it's done slowly or quickly. The Gerson Miracle talks about how deficiency and toxicity are the two main issues and reasons everyone will most likely be affected by disease in their lifetime.
After Max Gerson's death, his practice has been carried on by his youngest daughter, Charlotte. Charlotte's son also carries on the legacy at The Gerson Institute in CA, and a hospital in Tijuana, Mexico. The branch in Mexico was created over 36 years ago because laws in many US states prohibit any treatment of cancer other than radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery.
Additional benefits of The Gerson Therapy include improved mental acuity, smoother skin, better vision, stronger bones, higher spiritual consciousness, a life free of disease, as well as nagging unknown medical conditions.
The principles of The Gerson Therapy clear the mind to inspire positive responses to stimuli. The documentary referred to the standard American diet as S.A.D., where dead, frozen, and nutritionless foods are consumed.
Dr. Gerson called his approach to health "totality". With every meal, we're either digging our own graves with our silverware or ensuring a healthy productive life, for not only us but our children.
I give The Gerson Miracle documentary 2 thumbs up. We need to stop taking the food we eat for granted, just because it's what the majority of the population is consuming.
